Afloat Asunder

Ian Burns

Australian artist Ian Burns was artist in residence at Detached in 2013. The outcome was Afloat Asunder, an exhibition housed inside the Bond Store, at Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.

‘Like the eighteenth-century philosophers Rousseau and Burke,’ said Ian Burns, ‘I see curiosity as the first of all passions. I believe that by provoking the investigative impulse in the viewer there is scope to challenge their expectations and self-awareness.’
